Football games to play with friends
Whether your mates are in the group chat or on the sofa, these are the quickest ways to settle who knows more about football.
For friends who are not in the same room, send a 1v1 challenge link after any draft game: they play your exact board and you both see who got closer. For the same room, Fight Night is a two-player football fighting game on one keyboard or two controllers. All free, no download.
Online: challenge a mate to the same board
Every one of the 18 draft games ends with a Challenge a mate box. Type your name, send the link, and your mate gets exactly the spins you had. Your score stays hidden until they finish, then both results appear side by side.
Because the luck is identical, the only difference is the decisions you make. It works on any phone, needs no account, and the link never expires. More in how 1v1 challenge links work.
Group chats: everyone plays the same puzzle
The five daily games give everyone the same puzzle each day, so a group chat can compare results without anyone sending a link. Two work especially well for arguments:
- Deep Cut rewards the answer nobody else gave, so the debate is about who went too obscure.
- Crowd Favourite asks what most people answered, so it settles who thinks like the crowd.
For a tournament, post one draft challenge link and have everyone play it. The closest to the target wins.
Same room: Fight Night and quizzes
Fight Night is a football fighting game with 12 fighters. Two players can share one keyboard (one on the letters, one on the arrow keys) or plug in two controllers, and fights are best of three. See the Fight Night guide for controls and fighters.
The type-in quizzes make a good shared-screen game too: one person types, everyone shouts answers before the clock runs out.
For an FPL mini-league
The £70M FPL and £90M FPL drafts ask you to build a team to an exact FPL budget. One challenge link per gameweek gives a whole mini-league a side contest. See free FPL games.
Common questions
Do my friends need an account or an app?
No. A challenge link opens in any browser, and every game is free with nothing to install.
How many people can play one challenge link?
As many as you like. Everyone who opens it plays the same board and is compared with your score.
Is there a two-player football game on one computer?
Yes. Fight Night has a two-player mode on one keyboard or with two controllers.
